After the beauty pageant is no more on air in air channel broadcasting in Korea for the women commercialing, it's true that the popularity has cooled down for the last several years. But it is still on air in cable TV channel, and I and all of the guys in Korea love this event and the women in the contest.
When I was a kid, I used to bet with my family for the winner of this program. I guessed right for the winner two times before just after this program starts.
In the wild world, males are more beautiful than female. You can imagine about peacock with colorful feather or lion's mane.
But in the human world, that theory is reverse.
* Please correct my poor writing nicely. thank you Jasmine~
