For some reason, Oliver abused his wife, Jenniffer. After Oliver said “I’m sorry”, too generous Jeniffer replied like this.“Love means never having to say you’re sorry.”Since watching this movie, not little Koreans have kept this famous phrase in their minds. They thought, ‘Yes, that’s right. We don’t need to say I’m sorry even to our lovers, when my sweetheart steps on my foot, or when a husband forgets his wife’s birthday, or when a boyfriend doesn’t pay his debt and run away from his girlfriend. Only to our lovers? No way. Much more to unknown people.I wonder how many couples broke their relation, because either one didn’t say I’m sorry :) Let me consult the English dictionary as well as Korean one. As we can see in the dictionary, the word “sorry” express only unhappiness or regret of speaker. Korean word “미안(未安)” also has exactly same meaning, that is just “uncomfortable”. Similar Chinese word “유감(有感)” means “have some feeling” too.
